Cooperative Effort Between Bundan NGO and KKF to Assist Children From the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in Mongolia

The management of the Kim Il Sung-Kim Jong Il Foundation (KKF) recently held a meeting with Okryu Children’s Hospital (OCH) staff and representatives from the Healthcare Cooperation Association (HCA) of the Ministry of Public Health of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). This meeting served as a platform for discussions between hospital administrators and pediatric heart surgeons, outlining the forthcoming steps for our joint program.

Furthermore, the KKF informed both institutions of the expansion of our program to include pediatric surgeons, anesthesiologists, lung suction doctors, and surgery nurses for a training initiative in Mongolia. The objective is to ensure that children under the care of each participating doctor receive appropriate supervision during the training program and subsequently benefit from capacity-building efforts.

While reports from the Russian state-run TASS news agency and advertisements by a Russian tour agency indicate that Russian tourists are now permitted to embark on ski trips to the DPRK starting February 2024, the timing of our potential visit to the DPRK remains uncertain.
