Khövsgöl, Mongolia

2023, Oct 06- Oct 12

It was great for us that we were able to revisit Khuvsgul aimag on the 3rd anniversary of the BUNDAN project. It was heartening to see that the local hospitals were anticipating our team’s arrival and that the doctors had prepared a list of patients for cross-checking by our project team, particularly by Doctor Boldsaihan.

Just as we did three years ago, we returned to the Taiga. It is a remote mountain forest range in western Khuvsgul that is home to the Tsaatan people, a minority group of nomadic reindeer herders.

From our first trip, two Tsaatan patients received life-saving valve replacement surgery and that is how they learned about our mission. This time it was such heartwarming to see that people were queuing up to be examined and came with their health problems whether it was heart-related or not. We shall keep up the work in the future as always 🙌
