From Paro to Ulaanbaatar: One Flight, One Post, One Million Hearts

The Bhutanese patients travelled a long way, from Paro to Bangkok for an overnight stay, then Bangkok to Hong Kong, with an international transfer to Ulaanbaatar. Our fourth group included an elderly Yeshi girl with her mother and 11-year-old Pema with his uncle. For all of them, it was their first time traveling abroad, passing through major airport hubs like Bangkok and Hong Kong, which made us anxious.

That morning, as they checked in for their Bangkok to Hong Kong flight, Dr. Boldsaikhan posted a request: 'If any Mongolians are traveling from Bangkok to Hong Kong to Ulaanbaatar, please help our Bhutanese patients, they are on their first international journey.'

Within an hour, the post went viral, 1.2 million views, over 300 shares, and a reach of 1.8 million, nearly Mongolia’s entire adult population. It was an unprecedented record on Mongolian Facebook.

This moment showed the incredible kindness of Mongolians and their deep empathy for children in need. The overwhelming response was a powerful reminder of how close this cause is to their hearts.
