BUNDAN NGO Featured in MIAT Mongolian Airlines’ In-Flight Magazine

BUNDAN NGO and the “Heart Remembers” project were recently featured in MIAT Mongolian Airlines’ in-flight magazine, highlighting the project’s life-saving work for children with congenital heart defects in Mongolia and beyond.

The article, titled “100,000 Kilometers Traversed, 1,600+ Saved Lives: The Global Partnership Healing Young Hearts,” shares the story of BUNDAN NGO’s nationwide and regional efforts to bring early diagnosis, treatment, and heart surgery closer to children and families who need it most.

Since 2020, the Heart Remembers project has travelled across Mongolia, reaching remote provinces and communities where access to specialized cardiac care is limited. Through outreach screenings, medical consultations, follow-up care, and life-saving surgeries, the project has helped identify children with congenital heart defects and connect them to timely treatment.

The feature also highlights the important role of international cooperation. Swiss cardiac surgeon Prof. Dr. Thierry Carrel and other international medical partners have supported the project through complex surgeries, training, mentorship, and knowledge exchange with Mongolian doctors and medical teams.

In the article, Dr. Boldsaikhan Bundan, founder and lead doctor of the Heart Remembers project, reflects on how the initiative began, why early detection is critical, and how many children can go on to live healthy lives when they receive treatment at the right time.

The publication recognizes not only the medical achievements of the project, but also its humanitarian mission: ensuring that children have access to heart care regardless of where they live or their family’s economic situation.

BUNDAN NGO is grateful to MIAT Mongolian Airlines’ in-flight magazine for sharing this story and helping raise awareness about children’s heart health, early diagnosis, and the importance of collective action.

Through the continued support of doctors, hospitals, partners, donors, and communities, BUNDAN NGO remains committed to expanding access to life-saving pediatric cardiac care in Mongolia and across the region.
